Hello, friends and kind-hearted community members,
My family and I recently faced the devastating impact of Typhoon Kristine, which left half of our home submerged in floodwater. We were forced to evacuate with our two small children. We had no electricity or internet for a full week, and it took a full week for the water to finally subside. The typhoon not only damaged our roof but also flooded many of our essential belongings, including our motorcycle, which we rely on daily. We just made it back home yesterday. Now, we’re in full clean-up mode, trying to get back to some sense of normalcy.

The damage has been significant. Our roof needs major repairs, and many of our belongings, including our motorcycle, were submerged in floodwater. The estimated repair costs for our roof and other damage to our home and belongings is around $800 to $1,000. The journey to recovery won’t be easy, but we’re grateful to be safe and together.

If you’re able to lend any support—whether through words of encouragement, sharing our story, or helping us with the repair costs—it would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and may kindness come back to you tenfold.
With gratitude,
Alona
