Ahhhh the end of winter, when the fog of the cold, snowy months starts to lift and cabin fever rears its head. As spring nears, I am excitedly planning my backpacking trips for the year. Choosing trails, obtaining permits, requesting time off work.... It's all becoming more real as I actually sit down and plan, no longer just a mid-winter fever dream. Anyway, I've got some really exciting backpacking plans this year that I wanted to share! I've got two bigger trips planned: the 76-mile Foothills Trail in North Carolina and South Carolina in the spring, and the 485-mile Colorado Trail in the summer. Along with those, I've got several shorter Colorado trips lined up ahead of the Colorado Trail, including the Great Sand Dunes, Indian Peaks Wilderness, and Rocky Mountain National Park, and I might add a couple more as well....
