Hey Friends,
How was your week? Mine was a doozy. A few things went right, but a lot more went wrong. By all intents and purposes, this week was a failure overall. That’s great!
No, you didn’t read that wrong. While I would have much rather had a winning week, or a week that was a clear success, it simply wasn’t. There were more misses than hits and more lows than highs.
What’s so great about that? It means that I tried. I showed up, and I tried. The inconveniences persisted, but so did I!
That wave of tiredness I felt last week when I said I probably wasn’t going to do my homework? It was a sign. And honestly, no, I still didn’t do that homework. My mind was willing. My body, on the other hand, was not. It has been doing its own thing this week. I’m just along for the ride.
To close out this week, I’ve got to end strong today. My to-do list is a bit intimidating, but my kids said they’ll help me in any way they can. They’re pretty good like that.
Question for you, my friend: How fabulously have you failed?
Because it’s not just about the failure. It’s also about how you assess, reflect, and tackle the situation with newfound knowledge, zest, and zeal.
Every failure, disappointment, and inconvenience gives you the opportunity to learn from it and try again. Let’s be honest. Sometimes, things are simply beyond our control.
But in the great words of Janet Jackson,
Control
Never gonna stop
Control
Now I'm all grown up
We’ve got this, Friends. We are the adults, and we will take control. Results may vary but never stop showing up. Your biggest win could be one failure away.
