So, a lot has happened since I last wrote a post. A friend of mine convinced me to start driving a Taxi part time, it did take 6 months for him to convince me as I was busy with this project at the time and I was dismissing it as not important what I was trying to achieve. However, it has turned out to be the best decision I have made with it. It has put the project on hold for a little while in terms of production. but in balance of this, I have made many contacts, met interesting people, discovered an area where the project may be best suited to launch, and currently, I am sitting in Costa Coffee waiting for a local Journalist to arrive and interview me for some exposure in the local paper. It has become an excellent Marketing tool, and going froward it will be invaluable in spreading the message and getting the word out.
I have also become a friend of a local musician who was once signed to a major label and played with and worked with some of the biggest rock bands in the UK. So, sometimes those things that may seem mundane and not worth it, in terms off what we require, are actually gifts, sent to help us on our journey. So, never dismiss anything. Like this meeting for example that I am waiting to have. I drove the Journalists mum home one night in the taxi and we were talking about my ideas and poetry etc, she mentioned her daughter was a journalist and said that she may be interested in doing a piece on me. I thought nothing of it until she contacted me a few days later, now, less than a week later, I am waiting to be interviewed.
It is surreal how the universe steps in to help once you decide on what you truly want. Like driving s taxi, a tedious, mundane job that most people would discard, however, the universe made sure that my friend pestered the life out of until I caved in and joined him, but without it, I would still be plodding along without the contacts I've met, the opportunity that has come from it, finding the area to launch the campaign. it has all come from something that seemed pointless, useless in terms of what I was wanting to achieve. So, always keep faith in what you are doing, NEVER GIVE UP, even when it seems lost. There's an old Egyptian proverb that I love, it is, 'The Darkest Hour of the Night, is just before Dawn' meaning, when everything seems lost and you are thinking of giving up, that is when you are closest to achieving your goal, so that's the time where you have to lift your chin, bury your negative energy & thoughts deep in your mind and get the job done.
Anyway, I shall keep you updated on the progress of this and shall share the interview on here and Patreon. But I think this will be the catalyst to push me harder to get this project off of the ground.
