Hi! I am a composer-pianist, teacher, and writer whose preferred workspace is the nearest local coffee roaster. I have have woven together strands of music and words throughout my career: leading a musical theater club at a senior center in Brooklyn, New York, studying Cuban poetry while majoring in piano performance and Spanish at Vanderbilt University, composing the libretto and score for my dissertation chamber opera at Stony Brook University. I live with my husband and child in Birmingham, Alabama, where I teach music and write poetry to meditate on the meanings of places and daily life.
