Behind the Scenes – After the Motorbike Hit Me…

Jul 13, 2025

So, you’ve probably seen the vlog by now — the day I unexpectedly got clipped by a motorbike on a quiet street in Thailand. I ended up with a bandaged ear, a bit of a limp, and what turned into one of the most chaotic travel days I’ve had in a long time.

After getting treated at the hospital, I came back to the hotel, ear sore and legs aching, but still managed to finish the vlog. I wasn’t feeling great, but I wanted to stay on track with my daily uploads. Once it was done, I went straight into rest mode: antibiotics, paracetamol, and recovery in an air-conditioned room — staying out of the heat and away from any risk of infection.

Originally, I’d only planned to stay in Sisaket for one night, but it quickly became clear that travelling onwards in my condition wouldn’t have been wise. The hotel receptionist agreed it was better for me to take a break, and has even brought me the occasional coffee while I’ve been recovering, which I really appreciated.

I’ve spent the last day or two mostly in the hotel room — a little bored at times, but keeping myself entertained with Netflix and using the downtime to catch up on things I’ve been putting off. I’ve managed to go back and update older YouTube videos, tidy up titles and descriptions, and sort out some of the admin work that usually gets left behind during travel days.

This morning, I woke up still feeling a bit sore, so I made the decision to extend my stay again. I’m taking things day by day now, letting my body rest properly. That said, I did manage to get out today for a short walk and to do my laundry — because even when you’re injured, life doesn’t stop, and fresh clothes are always a good mood booster.

So that’s where I’m at — resting, recovering, and slowly getting back to normal. It’s been a challenging few days, but I’m feeling grateful that it wasn’t worse, and that I’ve got such a supportive little community around me.

If you’ve been enjoying the vlogs and want to support what I do, you’re very welcome to buy me a coffee. No pressure at all — just a small way to help keep the adventures going while I take this little pause to heal.

Thanks again,

Stu 😊
