NOTE: This went to my email list, and I am reposting it here! Please bear with me as I organize my online presence ^^"
Hello friends!
It's been a couple years since you've heard from me! So if you're getting this email and are like "who the heck is this person", you may have joined my mailing list several years ago when I was posting a lot of game music packs under the monicker Ariyassa.
Life has thrown a lot of transitions my way and the games and audio industries have shifted dramatically, though that hasn't necessarily been a bad thing for me. I've actually been working on a lot of local projects here in San Francisco... but that also meant that my online presence started falling off. Recently I decided I'd shift my online presence to something a little more sustainable for myself.
So just to speedrun some updates:
I still work in game audio, and am the in-house audio person for two indie games: Hot Pink Detective and Skysail Inn
I've started performing in live shows as a sound artist.
I'm working in the immersive audio field! Yep, that means I work on live performances in immersive formats, both as a sound artist/composer as well as in an audio engineering capacity.
I've been working on more personal music projects, including a single that I will be releasing soon and an accompanying album.
I've started moving more into creative technology and software for audio and live sound settings.
So! If you're still interested in hearing about that stuff, feel free to stick around on this newsletter. If not, feel free to unsubscribe! And if you're really interested in this new direction, please also consider supporting me on Buy Me a Coffee.
I decided to start a Buy Me a Coffee page because I've realized that email newsletters and/or maintaining a YouTube channel is not for me, but I did enjoy the old internet days of rambling on a livejournal... so one of the membership tiers is literally the "listen to me go on a deep dive of some random topic as I explore nerdy audio shit". Consider my BMC page the behind-the-scenes content, you'll still be getting my news updates and also all of my deep dives, creative process, works in progress, and other things :) I'll still be sending less frequent news updates here, but I'm largely shifting a lot of my posts over to BMC.
Anyway, that's it for now! There's a lot more to talk about and some exciting updates I can't really announce yet, so stay tuned.
