Hello! I'm Ariane from Caipora Books, the heart and mind behind Halls in The Forest – a blog dedicated to preserving our rich folkloric heritage and advocating for our precious wilderness.

Who Am I?

I wear many hats: published author, independent publisher, devoted mother, dedicated Gothic fiction scholar, and passionate folklore enthusiast. What drives me is the belief that our collective memory contains wisdom too valuable to be forgotten.

What I Create

I breathe new life into rare folktales, retelling them in English, German, and Brazilian Portuguese. My approach is respectful adaptation – making these stories accessible to modern audiences while preserving their authentic essence. Medieval tales remain truly medieval, and each story retains the character of its original time period.
