About Archaeology Shetland
creating knowledge about past generations for future generations.
Archaeology Shetland is a volunteer community group dedicated to the 6000 years of settlement history in Shetland. We undertake public walks, lectures, field recording and provide a ready pool of skilled excavators to fulfill the needs of universities and public bodies whilst excavating in Shetland.
Keeping our membership fee as modest as possible, all activities and events are free whilst articles, photographs and additional web content is provided by the goodwill and hard work of members and associates.
However, we do need to cover insurance, website and equipment costs which are ever rising. It is hoped you have appreciated the work we do and would like to help us in any small way.
And we thank you in advance!
