About Anton Emery
Arrangements of celtic music solo acoustic guitar
I started playing guitar at 15, initially inspired by classical and flamenco players I had heard. I studied classical guitar fairly seriously for the first 4 years, two years in high school and two in college.
While attending Florida State University i was getting more into bluegrass and irish music. Tallahassee had a good bluegrass and irish scene and I started going to jams and learning tunes. I could feel my time with classical guitar coming to a close, but I still loved fingerpicking and being able to play as a soloist.
I read about Al Petteway in Acoustic Guitar magazine and bought one of his albums at the local Borders bookstore. I instantly knew this is what I wanted to do on the guitar. It had the sound of the irish and american music I was listening to, but centered around fingerstyle guitar.
I started exploring more alternate tunings and working on my own arrangements. I went to music camps and studied with Al, as well as Steve Baughman, Robin Bullock, and Tony Mcmanus. Slowly I felt myself developing my own sound.
I have released two solo guitar albums and am working on a third. By buying me a coffee you can directly support me in creating this wonderful guitar music. Thanks for listening.
