I'm so excited to finally share something I've been working on behind the scenes: my brand new Phonics Screening & Phase Progress Tracker!
As a former primary school teacher and current tutor, one of the biggest challenges I've always faced is keeping track of a child's phonics development in a way that is meaningful, organised and actually useful when planning next steps.
It's easy to record scores. What's much harder is understanding why a child is achieving those scores and exactly which sounds need additional support.
That's why I created this tracker.
More Than Just a Score Tracker
Most phonics trackers focus solely on recording screening check scores.
While scores are important, they only tell part of the story.
A child might score 19/40 on a practice check, but which sounds are causing difficulties? Which phase needs the most attention? Are they making progress over time?
This tracker helps answer all of those questions.
Alongside recording screening practice results, it also allows you to track individual sound and skill mastery across Phases 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The result is a much clearer picture of a child's phonics journey.

So I decided it was time to build one.
This tracker has been designed using my experience teaching phonics in the classroom and supporting children through interventions and tutoring sessions.
My Favourite Feature
If I had to choose one feature, it would be the sound mastery tracking.
Rather than simply telling you a child scored 19/40, the tracker helps identify exactly which sounds require further practice and which phases are secure.
That means interventions can be targeted and effective, rather than relying on guesswork.

I'm incredibly proud of how this tracker has turned out and I genuinely believe it will save teachers, tutors and parents a huge amount of time.
