Hi! I am Ann Cools, a nature and documentary photographer from Belgium. From nursing a fly and staring at lightning as a child to hiking mountains and swimming alongside orcas, I've cared about nature for as long as I can remember. And somewhere along the way, I picked up a camera and a pen.
Your support allows me to keep sharing the stories that need to be heard.
I firmly believe that the stories we share, play a fundamental role in how we interact with the world around us. I use visual storytelling to raise awareness, to share hopeful narratives and actions by people that actually make a difference in preserving nature. My aim is to spark a sense of wonder and curiosity to revive our connection with Mother Earth and with each other.
Recent work includes a story about the female ranger team at Nuraga Bhumi Institute, an indigenous women-led conservation initiative in Sumatra.
