FREE Ball Animation Rig for Maya

When first learning animation and specifically character animation we need to learn the basic principles of timing, weight, squash and stretch etc. One of the best ways is to animate a bouncing ball. So I have created a versatile ball animation rig for using in Autodesk Maya.

This ball rig has all the controls you need to make a believable animation complete with squash and stretch capabilities and also featuring movable and rotatable pivots.

It even comes equipped with variety of different ball types you can switch between, from a soccer ball, basketball, beach ball and more.

Hi! My name is David and I'm an animator and motion designer with over 15 years of experience in the industry. I run my own small animation studio and have worked with a variety of clients, from start-ups to Netflix and Universal Studios.

As a "Generalist" artist and animator, I have a wide range of skills that allow me to take a project from storyboard to completion. My expertise lies in character animation and I believe this approach makes me a versatile and employable artist.

This is the foundation of Animator Artist Life , where I aim to not just teach one animation software or technique, but to help new and established artists reach their goals.

A few years ago, I started a YouTube channel to share my industry experience through free tutorials. I was so touched by the positive feedback and support I received from my viewers that I decided to dedicate more time to building a community of aspiring animators, designers, and artists.
