Happy Monday all - I'm trying to keep my chin up given <waves hands frantically to the rest of the world outside my window> all of that going on. Deep breaths.
I spent a bit of today updating my 'one page portfolio'. I got this idea from, hmm someone (who can remember anymore?) a couple years ago and it's been useful to have something to post when looking for freelance work.
I'm in a bit of a 'moment' where Event industry jobs aren't quite happening and I'm getting to the point where I need to do something to bring in a couple bucks, but also just to get involved in the world again.
I reached out to several businesses in neighboring Bronxville (the non-profit movie theater, the library, and a theater) to volunteer and they were all kind of flaky. <shrug> I suppose it is what it is but hasn't much felt like being part of a community up here in Westchester (I know, I know, there's a reputation for this, of course so I shouldn't be surprised but thought it was hype... but nope, not in the least, actually, as it turns out). I am sorry that other people were right. I had high hopes for this move in this regard.
Anyway, on a happier note, Wedding plans are coming along quickly and we have an officiant and the start of a ceremony. I've started to create a playlist on Spotify and will be adding to that as inspiration strikes. What songs would YOU recommend for a wedding playlist? I think this won't be for the wedding itself, but more for the afternoon spending time with family and close friends.
