For those of us in the States today begins the Memorial Day weekend. What, you say, it's only Wednesday! That's true but anyone who has ever spent even a nanosecond in a corporate office knows that nothing happens on the Friday of a three day weekend and things are sort of iffy on Thursday! lol
But that's OK. Everyone deserves a break and this promises to be a gorgeous weekend, at least here in the NYC area. I'm on my own this weekend as I opted out of a travel plan my partner made with friends. I am in a kind of in a yuck-o headspace these days and frankly I thought traveling on a holiday weekend to a place celebrating Pride would push me over the edge --- and, trust me, nobody wants to be around that (not even me, but I have no choice! the day we can take a vacation from ourselves will be a good day) :)
If you're in between things as well, make the most of this weekend to recharge and do all the fun things that you might get to do normally. Me, I'm still finding my way around my new neighborhood and on the hunt for a bike rental place. I used to ride all the time in NYC until the bike bros decided that the roadway in Central Park and the paths in Riverside Park were only good for those who were training for the tour de France - pedestrians and leisurely riders be damned! I'm hoping to find less of that up here. Anyway, wish me luck!
