La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin

A sweet and short prelude from the first of the 2 books of preludes Debussy wrote. This is one of the easier preludes, but definitely the most famous one - as well as one of his most recorded pieces ever. This piece is based on a poem by the French poet Leconte de Lisle, and depicts the musical image of a 'girl with flaxen hair' - which in fine arts (at the time) was used as a symbol for innocence and naivety, which is reflected in the simplicity of the piece.
