Hi, my name is Emily McKnight - I am an actor based in Sydney Australia. I graduated drama school in 2015 and since then have been doing my best to, well, survive as an artist. An Actor Survives is a podcast that digs deep into Australia’s most creative minds, to uncover the tools you need to survive a career as an actor.
The aim of this podcast is to have real discussions with actors about what it's actually like to live and work as an artist, particularly in Australia.
My big hope is that it will connect with others who are trying to navigate this career, and feel less alone, and that there is no 'right' way to do things - or necessarily a clear path. This has been something I've thought about a lot and it’s very exciting to get to talk to other people doing it!
As an actor myself, so far, I’ve been lucky to get to dip my toe into a lot of creative projects - and experience being on set for TV shows and ads, as well as theatre. I’ve also launched a career as a children’s performer called Emily Who and I work in voice over.
