Earlier this year, many of you helped my little family of three survive when I launched Older and Wisner. You kept us afloat in a time of desperation.
To those of you who supported us: I am profoundly grateful, and I apologize for not posting much since then. My absence from this platform isn’t due to a lack of commitment to this project. Frankly, I’ve never believed in the need for this work more than I do now. But, holy shit, I’ve been riding the struggle bus on some treacherous roads for more than two years now.
Despite continuing to look for work, I still do not have a stable source of income. We’ve been scraping by, borrowing from family, and cutting expenses to the bare necessities.
I’m ready to turn survival into something radical.
We’re about to hit the road full-time in our RV again. But this time, we’re launching a YouTube series titled: Rebel Alpha Ed. The kids and I will travel the country to meet people doing good in the world, learn from them, and amplify their work through storytelling and kid-led art fundraisers. We will spotlight inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly spaces, farms, sanctuaries, food justice orgs, art studios, mutual aid networks, and community builders. We want to learn from the people who make the world better in quiet, powerful ways.
This project connects everything I’ve been building:
The Attention Collective: a radical social learning community for families and educators
Older and Wisner: my book-in-progress about choosing self-trust over conformity
The Rebel Educator Alliance: supporting educators who teach truth, justice, and care
Rebel Alpha Art Collective: raising funds through creativity and collaboration
Asking for Support
We need at least $3,000 to get on the road this month. That covers gas, food, campsite fees, insurance, and basic RV maintenance. It’s just enough to launch this project and keep us afloat.
After that, we’ll need continued support to keep telling these stories and building a better world with our kids and our community.
