I developed the 'AMARC Experience' website over 25 years ago. Even though I first registered the amarcexperience.com domain on December 30th 2000 the first version of the website was available from the beginning of 1998, a mere 4 years after the very first worldwide web browser was widely available.

Through the years and some ups and downs the AMARC Experience has documented the aircraft arriving and departing the Air Force Aircraft Maintenance and Regeneration Center located at Davis-Monthan AFB in the town of Tucson, AZ. This is where many thousands of aircraft can be seen being stored for future use or for spare parts to keep active aircraft flying.

The web site houses a large database (60,000+ records) which details aircraft movements at the facility dating back to the late 1940's, at which time surplus aircraft from WWII were being stored.

Through this information I hope visitors can gain a greater understanding of the history of U.S. military aviation, using the retirement of older aircraft types and variants to gain a sense of the advance in technology and military aircraft requirements over the years.

Hopefully all AMARC Experience visitors find this information interesting and informative. The process of investigating historical aircraft movements is ongoing, although this is not always a straightforward task. Information for some periods is thin on the ground or even non-existent and official records can be sketchy where they do exist.

This project is very much ongoing when time is available.
