The Aloha Free Press is independent, online news on Substack focused on Aloha, Oregon and the adjoining neighborhoods.

With professional experience in local news, writing and graphic design, I am filling a need for local news coverage for the more than 50,000 people who live in this slice of unincorporated Washington County. That's a lot of news that needs covering.

After publishing our first newsletter in April of 2025, our readership has grown exponentially. People in our community love local journalism.

Larger market news stations that cover the Portland area usually only cover Aloha crime report or generic news releases and are often labelled as Portland, Beaverton or generic Washington County. With the Aloha Free Press' focus on hyper-local journalism, you can read stories specifically of interest to our community and go into details about our unique experiences and needs.
