Oombi Part 1 is out. Is it really the hardest touring track in Australia? Depends on your setup and what you've driven before — difficulty is always in the eye of the beholder.
What I found lacking in most Oombi series I've watched is a proper look at what the track actually looks like, kilometre after kilometre. So this one has a lot of track footage, and I give you my honest take on how hard it really is. It turned out a fair bit different to what I expected — and not all of it for the better.
Part 1 runs from Kununurra through Wyndham and the Karunjie stock route, through the gate at Home Valley, and down to the Durack River crossing. Nine cars, two G Classes and a Fuso Canter towing an oversized camper onto a 4WD track. You can probably guess how the tree situation went.
