Sostieni Derek Shemlon Nyuydzewira

I am an experienced educator, author, and curriculum designer dedicated to helping young people grow into thoughtful, confident, and capable individuals. With over a decade of experience across mainstream and alternative education, I’ve taught learners from primary to post-16, including students in home education settings, with a focus on Mathematics, Economics, life skills, and personal development.

My work bridges academic excellence with emotional intelligence, creativity, and critical thinking, ensuring that education serves not just the mind but the whole child.

As the author of The Conscious Child and founder of Alkebulan Research, my goal is to support parents, educators, and schools in rethinking how we guide the next generation. I advocate for personalised, values-based education that meets learners where they are and helps them flourish in both character and competence.

My Teaching Philosophy

Education should be inclusive, learner-centred, and rooted in practical wisdom. Young people thrive when they are supported to think independently, solve real-world problems, and develop a strong moral compass. I strive to blend academic structure with creative freedom, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and grow with confidence.
