Hi! My name is Aliya (she/her) and I am the artist/artisan behind @extradisciplinary.
I teach sewing classes at Modern Domestic and offer private lessons in a variety of arts and crafts for kids and adults. I especially love to work with beginners of all ages and adults looking to heal from a lifetime of perfectionism.
I am always seeking new mediums and handicrafts to add to my creative repertoire. Recent foci include film photography and darkroom printing, sewing, knitting, crochet, wood carving, weaving, needlework, book binding, nature journaling, sketching, and painting—just to name a few.
I live with my incredible spouse and two very helpful cats in Portland, Oregon, where I’m currently working towards my Oregon Naturalist Certification.
