You can change the path without changing the destination

Sometimes we think we’re stuck because we haven’t reached the goal yet.

We’ve been working. We’ve been trying. We’ve been showing up. And when the results don’t come as quickly as we hoped, it’s easy to wonder if we chose the wrong goal altogether. But what if the goal isn’t the problem?

What if you simply need a new direction?

This week (with the Eight of Cups), we're reminded that sometimes the bravest thing we can do is stop investing our energy into an approach that isn’t working and choose a different path forward.

Notice I wrote approach, not goal.

You don’t necessarily need to abandon what you want just because the way you’ve been trying to get there isn’t producing the results you hoped for.

For me, this has been a major lesson in building my business. For a while, I was trying to find success by doing what everyone else seemed to be doing. I was looking at what worked for other people and trying to recreate their path, thinking that if I just followed the formula, I would get the same result. But somewhere along the way, I realized:

I don’t want to build someone else’s business. I want to build mine.

When I started staying true to myself, my ideas, my strengths, and the way I naturally want to show up, something shifted. My path may take longer, and it may not look like everyone else’s. But I enjoy the work I’m doing. I feel connected to what I’m creating. And most importantly, I feel like me.

The Eight of Cups isn’t necessarily asking you to walk away from the dream. It may simply be asking you to walk away from the way you’ve been trying to achieve it. So before you decide that something isn’t working, get really clear about what you actually want.

Is the goal still aligned?

If the answer is yes, don’t give up just because one path hasn’t worked. Get creative. There are usually far more ways to reach a destination than we initially realize. Try something different. Take a detour. Learn a new skill. Ask for help. Collaborate. Experiment. Follow your own instincts instead of blindly following someone else’s blueprint.

  • Become versatile.

  • Become willing to change the how without abandoning the what.

Because sometimes you aren’t stuck at all. You’re simply being invited to find another way forward.

Not Sure If You Need a New Goal or a New Direction?

Sometimes it’s hard to see the path forward when you’re standing in the middle of it.

If you know what you want but aren’t sure how to get there, let’s talk.

In a Clarity Call, we’ll look at where you are, where you want to go, what might be keeping you from moving forward, and what needs to shift so you can take your next aligned step.

You don’t have to abandon the dream. You may just need a different way to get there.

Book a Clarity Call with me and let’s find your next direction together.
