About Alexis Williams
Alexis Williams is a skilled creative technologist specializing in web development and multimedia projects. She is the founder of Softwear by Lex, winner of NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Technology, Culture and Society Best Senior Project, tackling the issue of e-waste through interactive, wearable art created with microcontrollers, 3D printed pieces, and recycled tech. Williams is also an educator and activist who leverages her platform to illuminate the stories and histories of historically underrepresented communities to which she belongs. Her commitment to sharing resources extends to her organization, Pb Resources: a web-based toolkit designed to lower the barriers to entry for activism, education and political engagement. Garnering engagement from over 2 million users, her platform offers accessible resources for individuals looking to get involved in some of the most pressing social justice issues of our time, including reproductive rights, racial justice, and climate change. Through her coding expertise, Williams actively confronts and addresses societal inequities. Her work extends beyond innovation; it stands as a testament to her dedication to meaningful and lasting change.
