Hello everyone! 大家好！My name is Ailu P. I am an audiovisual designer, illustrator and photographer.
All this started the day I had the crazy idea to propose to Gustavo Ng, who had just gotten off the plane in Beijing, to paint his sketches while he was traveling. He is a writer and journalist, but he likes to sketch when he travels. He loved the idea and I could see China in my imagination painting and enjoying it through his eyes.
The idea came because I live exactly on the other side of the globe, if we crossed the planet with a knitting needle from side to side from Tiān'ānmén Square, (天安门广场) in Beijing, the point of the knitting needle would come out is the place where I live: Province from Rio Negro, Argentina!!.
That's why I found it interesting to do this project because it's a way to join two countries through art.
I decided to call it "Tunelpuente" or "Tunnelbridge", in Chinese, the name could be: “桥星星或桥隧”
Obviously, between China and us on this side, there are differences and similarities. We speak different languages but we have all climates. I can say that China and Argentina are like yin and yang, day and night, sun and moon, summer and winter, the opposites that attract each other.
"This is going to be like an obstacle run," I remember him saying, "just send me your sketches," I replied.
This is how I decided to build the "tunnelbridge", and, with the help of Gus who made the first sketches and still sending me whenever he can. I'm starting this project and I am very grateful that Gus has joined me to start this madness of uniting two countries through art and sending his sketches to paint from the other side of the world.
As you can imagine this project is expensive because it takes many hours of editing and drawing and now it is necessary to get some help to continue, so I need your support to continue drawing, and I invite you to join me in this adventure of drawing what there is on the other side of the world, that is: China.
So far Gustavo Ng. drew all the sketches, and will continue when he has time to do so.
I did the Coloring and the digital edition of all the drawings and I also added some of my own to this collection, and I keep adding them every week.
This is the beginning of the adventure, there are many more ideas, and the most wonderful thing of all is that we are starting this journey in "the same boat" and the idea is "to build a tunnel" that "is a bridge" and that finally may us hug each other even when we are so far away...

Todo esto empezó el día que tuve la loca idea de proponerle a Gustavo Ng, que acababa de bajar del avión en Beijing, pintar sus bocetos mientras viajaba. Él es escritor y periodista, pero le gusta dibujar cuando viaja.
Le encantó la idea y pude ver a China en mi imaginación pintando y disfrutando a través de sus ojos.
La idea surgió debido a que yo vivo exactamente del otro lado del globo, si atravesamos el planeta con una aguja de tejer de lado a lado en la plaza Tiān'ānmén de Beijing (天安门广场), la punta de la aguja de tejer saldría en el lugar donde vivo: Provincia de Río Negro, Argentina!!.
Por eso me pareció interesante encarar este proyecto, porque es una forma de unir dos países a traves del arte.
Decidí llamarlo “Tunelpuente” ó "Tunnelbridge". Y en chino el nombre podría ser: “桥星星或桥隧”
Culturalmente entre China y nosotros de este lado hay diferencias y similitudes. Hablamos distintos idiomas pero tenemos todos los climas. Puedo decir que China y Argentina son como el yiny el yang,el día y la noche, el sol y la luna, el verano y el invierno, los opuestos que se atraen entre ellos.
"Esto va a ser una carrera de obstáculos", recuerdo que dijo, "solo envía tus bocetos", le respondí.
Así fue como decidí construir el “tunelpuente” para llegar a china con la ayuda de Gus que hizo los primeros bocetos y me sigue enviando cada vez que puede. Estoy muy agradecida de que Gus me haya acompañado para iniciar esta locura de unir dos países a treves del arte y enviar sus bocetos para que los pinte desde el otro lado del mundo.
Como podrán imaginar este proyecto es costoso porque lleva muchas horas editando y dibujando y ahora es necesario conseguir algo de ayuda para poder seguir, así que necesito vuestro apoyo para seguir dibujando, y los invito a sumarse para acompañarme en esta aventura de dibujar lo que hay del otro lado del mundo, o sea: China.
Hasta ahora Gustavo Ng. dibujó todos los bocetos, y continuará cuando tenga tiempo para hacerlo.
Hice el Coloreado y la edición digital de todos los dibujos y también agregué algunos míos a esta colección, y sigo agregando cada semana.
Esto es el principio de la aventura, hay muchas ideas mas, y lo mas maravilloso de todo es que estamos empezando este viaje en el mismo barco y la idea es construir un tunel que sea puente y que finalmente nos lleve a poder abrazarnos aún estando lejos.
