When I started painting watercolors in early 2025, I thought it would just be a fun creative detour. A bunch of YouTube tutorials later, I ended up with a pile of paintings — most of them 5x7s, a few larger. Some are practice pieces, some are personal favorites. And some you've seen in my social feeds. (Who remembers Watercolor Month? 😂)
Anyway, rather than put them away in boxes, I decided to try and turn this collection into feasts for both the eye and some stomachs. Every painting purchased from Mijohn’s Art Pantry Project supports organizations fighting hunger right here in Boston.
So, as a reward for your giving to those in need, I'm giving you a chance to own an original Mijohn. Each piece comes with a thank-you note from me, signed “Mijohn,” the nickname I picked up during my newsroom days at The Boston Globe.
Some tips: The shop page can be slooow to load. Be patient, give it some time. It's an "infinite scroll" page, so if you select "All" in the categories at the top, keep scrolling! Or, use the categories to filter the results. The slowness might happen when you click on an item, too. Give it a minute to download the thumbnail. I promise it'll be worth it.
