Slow is the doorway to deep.
And deep is where real leadership lives.
I've been collaborating with the Global Learning Community (a network of leaders from the anti-trafficking space with members from 60 countries) to pilot leader care online circles throughout 2026. The first one was held in May, the second in August and a third one will run in November.
These are simple safe spaces for leaders to take an hour out of their week to slow down and to reconnect to all the things that help them live and lead well (steadiness, wisdom, creativity, presence, etc). The circles contain a meditation that helps participants sink into a slower pace, a short teaching component around one core question, guided reflection/journalling and an opportunity for sharing.
It's a privilege to be piloting this series and the hope is that it might become an ongoing collaboration. Take up so far has been small but feedback has been really positive.
In the first circle we explored the question: What has operating from urgency/speed cost you - in your body, in your relationships, or in your sense of who you are beyond the work?
One participant reflected: "I feel like being in a race of connecting all the dots, to make sure things worked sustainably. And it's cost me my energy & sanity'.
After the first circle participants reflected that they felt calm, refreshed, settled, more hopeful, and less foggy and soggy!
This is quiet work that underpins the sustainability of the personal and professional lives of leaders in the anti-trafficking sector. This sector desperately needs leaders who are grounded and connected to deep wisdom, deep creativity, deep steadiness and deep presence.
Slow is the doorway to deep.
And deep is where real leadership lives.
This is the work your support fuels.
