Earthpaints put down differently than the usual factory-made watercolours and they are quite thirsty and textured. Compared to something between watercolour and gouache but really a category of its own. They are imperfectly perfect for dealing with rustic themes and a great companion for the mountain-wandering sketcher that prefer things a little less annoyingly perfect and a bit more... primal.
The products:
I make these paints small-batch from iron oxides (ground earth) that are hand-mixed using traditional methods. The ingredients are vegetarian-friendly with an added option of interchanging the honey component with vegetable glycerine for a fully vegan option. There are a few base-colours and custom colours can be created/ mixed to create a unique/ personalized palette.
Tin palettes have half-pans or shells (your choice) with magnets to keep each in place yet still removable. Rustic wood palettes come with the paints cured in them directly. Singles are cured in either half-pans or shells. Dotcards can be made too and are shipped in envelopes. Pigment powders can be purchased separately too, as a 10ml bottle.
All sets are shipped out wrapped in organic linen made of hemp & cotton that can double as a drying cloth.
