Notes from A Radio Show
As I program my upcoming Radio show, Explorations, I marvel what what goes into. Searching the archives for songs and related material or in case of my most current, Solar Return, producing a Song whole cloth. Some shows are easy and others would test the patience of Job. And with Solar Return it’s all my own material so the question while the listener enjoy. Playing classic funk I know people will enjoy it, familiar and accessible as an established music genre. As I review the show, seeking glitches and technical issues I try detach myself and listen to songs I’ve compiled.
The artist in me listens with critique, wanting to adjust or fix the final mix. But it is too late. To the best of my skill and ability I must release the work, trusting in the patience and indulgence of thee listeners to either appreciate or disregard what I’m presenting.
As I tidy up and get ready for Tuesday’s broadcast I consider past efforts and, hopefully, those to come.
