Ever look up, see a plane, and wonder what it is? ADS-Bit answers that — in 16-bit style. It's a retro SNES-style flight tracker that takes live ADS-B data from your own receiver (dump1090, PiAware, readsb, and friends) and turns the aircraft overhead into custom pixel art sprites flying across a side-view sky. The sun and moon track their real astronomical positions, the colors change with the time of day, and clouds roll in based on your actual local weather.

It's a passion project where my love of aviation, retro games, and tinkering all collide. It's completely free and open source under the MIT license, and there's even an in-browser pixel editor so you can draw your own aircraft.
