🏠 The Reality of Shelter Systems: A Personal Journey

The shelter system presents challenges that often go unseen. After hours of calls to facilities reporting "no availability," you might think showing up in person would help. My experience proves otherwise - even waiting a full day outside Salvation Army resulted in being turned away due to capacity limits.

The process can be particularly disheartening. Imagine completing intake, receiving an ID, following all procedures - only to be told there's been a mistake and no beds are actually available. These experiences create a credibility gap when sharing with others who haven't faced similar situations.

With both Cove Behavioral Health and Salvation Army at maximum capacity since June 27, the reality of spending nights without shelter while pursuing employment opportunities (like my upcoming 7-Eleven interview) highlights the complex challenges of maintaining professional momentum during housing instability.

Your support helps bridge these gaps while I pursue multiple employment paths:
• Restaurant applications submitted
• 7-Eleven interview scheduled (July 1)
• Walking-distance opportunities targeted

Every contribution supports maintaining stability during this critical transition period. Thank you for being part of this journey toward positive change.
