I missed two full days of work this week. I was sick, and I have the doctor's note, but none of those hours get paid. So the math is simple and ugly: my room fee and bunk at a hostel here in Tampa come to $285 this week, and I don't have it.
Rent is due now. I'm asking for one more day, and I'm writing this in the meantime.
This page has always been an honest ledger, so here's this week's entry. Two days sick. Two days of pay gone. $285 owed. I'm not writing this from the other side of it. I'm writing it from the floor, where I am right now.
I'm not going to dress this up. If something I wrote ever made you feel less alone and you can spare a little, every dollar goes straight to rent. You can give here, or through Venmo @adontaimason or paypal.me/Adontai. Sharing this helps just as much.
The cracks are where the gold goes. Right now I'm just trying to keep a roof over the cracks.
(I wrote this with voice-to-text on my phone.)
