Buy Me a Coffee: Unlock Ancient Wisdom Workshop with The Diamond Cutter

Jun 30, 2025

imageI still remember the first time I heard about The Diamond Cutter. It wasn’t in a bookstore or from a yoga teacher, but from Russell Simmons—yes, the hip-hop mogul—casually dropping its name in an interview, maybe even on one of those reality shows he did. I was struck by how someone so deeply embedded in the world of business and culture would reference a 2,500-year-old Buddhist text as a key to his success. That moment planted a seed.

Fast forward to 2013, and I found myself in the Conquering Lion Yoga Teacher Training, led by Kelly Morris and her incredible team. It was there, in a sunlit studio filled with the scent of incense and the hum of community, that I was truly introduced to the heart of The Diamond Cutter. Kelly didn’t just teach the book—she lived it, and she invited us to do the same. I felt like I’d stumbled onto a set of instructions for life that was both ancient and startlingly relevant.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably someone who’s curious about how old wisdom can fit into our modern, messy lives. Maybe you’re a founder, an operator, a creative, or just someone who wants to live with a little more intention. I want to invite you to join me for a special 4-week workshop (August 2025) where we’ll dive into the core principles of The Diamond Cutter—not as abstract philosophy, but as practical tools for your work, your relationships, and your own growth.

Here’s what we’ll explore together:

Week 1: Understanding Cause & Effect

We’ll start with the foundation: every action plants a seed, and those seeds shape our reality. I’ll share stories from my own journey—how a single act of kindness (or carelessness) can ripple out in ways you’d never expect. We’ll have a short lecture, a guided meditation to reflect on our own “seeds,” and a group discussion where you can share your experiences. Practical exercises will help you track the causes you’re planting in your daily life.

Week 2: Cultivating Generosity

This week is all about giving—not just money, but time, attention, and energy. We’ll look at how generosity isn’t just a virtue, but a strategy for abundance. I’ll share the exercise Kelly gave us: “Give away what you want most.” We’ll meditate on the feeling of giving, discuss the challenges (and joys) of generosity, and set up a week-long generosity experiment.

Week 3: Seeing Potential in Everything

One of the most powerful lessons from The Diamond Cutter is that everything and everyone has hidden potential. We’ll explore how to train your mind to see opportunity where others see obstacles. Through lecture, meditation, and group brainstorming, you’ll learn to shift your perspective and unlock new possibilities in your work and life.

Week 4: Integration & Personal Practice

In our final week, we’ll bring it all together. How do you make these principles a living, breathing part of your daily routine? We’ll share what’s worked, what’s been hard, and how to keep going. You’ll leave with a personal practice plan, and we’ll close with a meditation to set your intentions moving forward.

Each session will run about 75 minutes:

- 20 minutes of teaching

- 15 minutes of guided meditation

- 20 minutes of group discussion

- 20 minutes of practical exercises and Q&A

You’ll get a downloadable workbook, access to a private online group for ongoing support, and recordings if you can’t make it live. Whether you’re new to these ideas or looking to deepen your practice, you’ll find a warm, supportive space to grow.

Why am I doing this on Buy Me A Coffee? Because I want to keep it personal and community-driven. Your support helps me create resources, hold space for these conversations, and keep the work accessible. If you’ve ever gotten value from my writing, teaching, or just a late-night coffee-fueled chat, this is a way to go deeper together.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your encouragement, your questions, and your presence mean the world to me. As The Diamond Cutter teaches, “The world is coming from you, not at you.” Let’s plant some good seeds together.

If you’re ready to join, just click the “Support” or “Membership” button here on Buy Me A Coffee. You’ll get all the details, workshop dates, and your welcome packet right away. And if you can’t join this time, sharing this post or buying a coffee is a beautiful way to support.

Here’s your actionable takeaway: Today, do one small act of generosity—no matter how tiny. Notice how it feels, and watch what grows from it.

Hope to see you in the workshop. Let’s unlock some ancient wisdom, together.
