On thresholds, transformation, and the search for ground to stand on
I'm writing this from a thresholdâthat liminal space between what has been and what is becoming.
On November 3rd, I step into a new chapter with Kenific Group, embracing full-time employment and the stability that comes with it. But before I can fully root myself in this next season, I need ground to stand on.
I'm actively seeking immediate housing in Tampa: a private room or studio apartment, ideally near Net Park or along public transit routes.
This search isn't merely pragmaticâit's foundational. It's about creating space that can hold the weight of vision, service, and the daily work of healing.
What I'm Seeking
The practical details:
Furnished (strongly preferred)
All utilities included (ideal, but flexible)
Private entrance or dedicated space
Safe, quiet environment conducive to rest and creativity
Move-in ready with immediate availability
Who I Am
What I bring to the table:
Full-time employed beginning November 3rd
Clean background check (recently completed)
Quiet, respectful tenant who values community
No pets or dependents
Non-smoker
Pre-approved for SHIP rental assistance (guaranteed rent payments sent directly to property ownersâthis means reliability and peace of mind for landlords)
I can provide employment verification, professional references, and all necessary documentation. My budget is flexible for the right space, and I'm ready to move immediately.
Why This Matters Beyond Logistics
But this post isn't only a housing request.
It's a meditation on what home means when you've known its absence.
For those of us who've lived through instabilityâwhether from economic precarity, systemic barriers, or life's unexpected rupturesâhousing becomes more than shelter. It transforms into sacred ground.
A threshold where survival softens into living.
A space where we can finally exhale without wondering where we'll sleep tomorrow.
A foundation for the work we're called to do in the world.
From Crisis to Advocacy
I've spent years alchemizing personal crisis into public service: writing guides for others navigating similar storms, building bridges between need and resource, creating visuals that speak to both pain and possibility.
I've turned my own periods of uncertainty into tools for collective resilience.
Now, I'm practicing what I've long preached: asking for help is not weaknessâit's wisdom.
I'm seeking the ground beneath me so I can continue standing for others. I'm looking for a room so I can keep making room for the work that matters. I'm searching for walls so I can continue breaking them down elsewhere.
The Invitation
If you know of a space, a lead, or a connectionâplease reach out.
A spare room being converted to rental. A studio apartment coming available. A property manager with a heart for second chapters. A landlord who believes in potential as much as credit scores.
If you feel moved to share this post, I'd be deeply grateful. Sometimes the right door opens through the most unexpected networks. Every share is a ripple. Every ripple reaches.

â Support the Transition
If you're moved to support but don't have a housing lead, you can contribute to my rehousing fund. Starting over means everything: security deposits, basic furniture, kitchen essentials, transportation costs, and all the invisible expenses of building a home from nothing.
Support via Buy Me a Coffee â
Every contributionâ$5, $20, $50âadds up to stability. To the ability to say yes when the right space appears. To having what's needed on move-in day. Your generosity becomes the bridge between houseless and housed, between starting over and standing firm.
Financial support is never expected but always transformative. Thank you for considering.
In Closing: Building Foundations Together
Thank you for walking with me through this season. For reading these words. For holding space for someone you may not know personally but recognize in spirit.
The foundation we build togetherâthrough shared resources, extended networks, simple acts of forwarding a messageâbecomes the platform from which transformation launches.
I've learned that asking is not diminishment. It's participation in the most ancient human practice: building shelter together, creating safety collectively, ensuring no one has to face the elements alone.
Here's to thresholds. To new chapters. To the sacred work of landing so we can lift.
With gratitude and hope,
Adontai
P.S. â Tampa community members, housing advocates, property managers, and anyone with leads: your visibility matters. Your connection could be the bridge. Thank you for considering sharing this within your networks.
