Hi, I'm Adam!
Music has always been very important to me. My parents met
in a drum and bugle corps, and as a small child I used to love going to their
rehearsals, standing in front of the horn line and being blasted with the sound.
My mother will tell you that every time I went with her to the grocery store, I
would sing the jingle of every product we passed. Music is my first language
and my first love.
I began with trumpet in the middle school band, sousaphone in marching band,
guitar and bass with a few punk bands in high school and rock bands in college.
I love challenging myself by learning new instruments, each one feeling like
another language. Now in my late thirties, I aim to create music that preserves
and honors all of those musical memories.
Song and Dance
If music was my first language, dance is how I learned to speak.
Music and movement are inseparable for me. According to my parents, when I was 2 and had to go with my mother to pick up my sister from dance class, they couldn't keep me off the floor. So, that's when I began. Truly, those circumstances were my most formative.
I continued to study dance for the next 20ish years of my life. Honestly, I don't know what I would be now if I hadn't begun dance training. When I was 8 my dance teacher told us about an audition for a local play, and that introduced me to my next passion.
Lights and Curtains
I had little to no experience of theatre. But the moment I was on the stage, under the lights, in front of an audience, I knew I had found my home. Throughout middle school and high school I was involved with as many local theatre productions, school musicals, and community theatres as possible. I studied theatre in college, where I learned to love the art more intensely. I began working in the scene shop, learning stagecraft, and the entire world of technical theatre.
And now, for the past 15 years, I've kept myself happy and busy as a freelance performer, educator, musician, and stagehand. Things got very scary when the industry shut down in 2020, and like most of my colleagues I was out of work for an unknown amount of time. So, I began learning how to record my music from home, creating other content, and livestreaming for an unknown audience. Even with every theatre in the country closed, I knew with more urgency than ever, the show must go on.
For the past 2 years, I’ve been sharing all of my work for free, so if you like my content it would be a huge encouragement if you support me by sending a message or buying me a coffee!
Thank you very kindly, and I hope to see you again after the
intermission!
