Welcome.

I'm Abigail Carlysle, a dark fiction author chasing atmospheric dread and trying to write stories that actually feel true.

My published works, Such a Beautiful Massacre and Through Her Shattered Eyes, dive headfirst into what it means to have agency and an identity when reality starts breaking down around you in the paranormal and horror spaces.

This space is the home of The Carlysle Field Notes: a corner to browse my handmade pieces, or to drop a little support in the tip jar if my words or journeys have resonated with you (for the actual behind-the-scenes essays and writing notes, you'll want to follow along over on my Medium and Substack!).

Carrying the owl as my personal totem through life, I’ve come to see every story as a kind of private ritual. They're built from a mix of psychology, mystery, deep history, and a generous dose of the unseen.

By tossing a little support toward The Carlysle Field Notes, you aren't simply buying a café. You're backing the travel and the lived moments that make these dark little worlds possible.

Let's step into the mystery together 👣🦉
