I've been an engineer since the nineties — back when getting a phone line to do something useful meant talking to the hardware directly.

I build PearlPBX2: a modern system for running and monitoring call centers. Not another dashboard bolted onto a legacy PBX, but a system built the way I think this should work — you see what's happening on your lines right now, and you can change it without filing a ticket with a vendor.

It's for small and medium businesses: the taxi dispatch, the ISP support desk, the service company where the phone is the business but there's no telecom department to run it.

I do this because after thirty years in telecom industry I have a clear opinion about how it should work.
