Republicans keep talking about demographics as if White Americans are some problem they have to work around.
White Americans have carried this party and this country for generations. They worked, paid taxes, raised families, served in the military, built businesses, kept towns alive, voted, volunteered, and showed up election after election because we wanted to believe somebody was finally going to fight for the country we knew and the future we wanted for our kids.
What did all that loyalty buy us?
Jobs disappeared. Wages didn't keep up. Housing is harder to afford. Our young people went to school, earned degrees, worked hard, and still found themselves back home.
White Americans watched their communities forcibly change around them while politicians told them to shut up, stop complaining, earn more, keep less, own less, and accept it.
Then those same politicians started talking about assembling new voting blocs as if all of us who'd been standing here for decades were suddenly optional.
I have no problem welcoming White Americans from any background who align with us, love this country, respect its laws, contribute to it, and want to build something. What I do have a problem with is politicians treating White Americans like a constituency they can take for granted while we're expected to keep voting, paying, working, sacrificing, while quietly accepting the erosion of our communities, families, cultural continuity, and economic future.
If Republicans want White Americans to keep showing up, then give us a reason. Make it possible for a young couple to buy a home in the town they grew up in. Make it possible for a man with a trade to raise a family without working himself into the ground. Make it possible for parents to believe their children can build something better instead of simply inheriting higher debt, fewer choices and foreign obligations.
Stop treating White concerns like something embarrassing that has to be explained away.
You cannot fix a party by looking for replacements for the people who lost faith in it.
You fix the reasons you lost us in the first place.
