I have set this up to support the ongoing production of KidLit Classics Podcast. Launched in 2022 by me - host and author Sam-Ellen Bound - I wanted to create a podcast dedicated to celebrating children's literature, the kidlit community, and the rich literary tradition we're all part of.
Each episode I chat with one guest from the kidlit industry - author, bookseller, educator, publishing professional - about the children's book that sparked their love of reading, got them involved in the kidlit community, or is just the one closest to their heart.
KidLit Classics is all about love - for the books that made us, for childhood reading, and for community. Apart from the deep dives into classic kidlit, there's also dramatic readings and a chance for each guest to share their current projects.
I have so many plans to grow the podcast, including a monthly New Release episode that focuses on mainly debut authors.
I love creating this show, but each episode is easily a day's work - mostly longer! - with the planning, recording, editing, producing, distribution, and marketing.
