Today I want to talk about a small community in the south eastern part of Phuket known as Kao Khad.
Kao Khad has long been a favorite spot of mine an area that allows you to get away from all the hustle, bustle, and mass commercialization that you find in many areas around the Island. This sleepy little village is sandwiched between the cape of Panwa and Borae.
This area has a few surprises that can be easily missed if you are not familiar with the area and just pass through.
For starters, there are three beaches, Ao-Yon which is split into two parts, both are accessible from the beach area & Kao Khad beach. Plus Kao Khad offers the only true 360-degree viewing point on the Island of Phuket and the views are breathtaking.
As far as roads go there is only one that runs through Kao Khad on one side of the road you have beautiful views of Chalong bay and on the other side are hills. Along the main road if you can call it that you will find a number of restaurants some offering beautiful sea views.
Along the road, you will find various Coffee Shops, accommodations of all different kinds, Hotels, Villas, houses, and even rooms to rent.
In the main area of Kao Khad will find small shops selling accessories, souvenirs, beachwear, etc. On top of that, there are a number of massage places plus motorbike/scooter & car hire shops and of course Taxi services plus not forgetting to mention. minimarts.
So as you can see more than enough for a relaxing holiday but should you want to venture further afield you are not too away from some of the main areas in Phuket and this is why I love Kao Khad. Now for some pictures and there are a fair few as I want to really show you Kao Khad .......Enjoy👍
