On Sunday I set out to do the 'Getting Lost' Adventurer's pack. It started off well, but I very quickly found I was 'rushing' and not fully enjoying the experience. I definitely think this kind of adventure is best with other people!
I ended up heading home after 1.5 hours and in some way, it was probably a good idea as later on that day my vacuum cleaner died :( I made the choice to spend the last bit of money left for the week on a new vacuum and glad I did because the power is 3x more than the one I had, so my house feels very clean now!
Along with that, spending the very little I had, it reminds me of the widow in the bible who gave everything she had and Jesus mentioned she gave more than everyone else.. While it's not quite the same, I chose to spend the last bit of my money on something that I needed.
That kind of trust in God, to know he's still got me no matter what, whether financially or in general, is something I continue to work on. It's not something that has always been there but is growing a lot lately. I got to yet again experience that trust when relieving on Friday and I prayed and trusted I wouldn't come home as exhausted as I did last time.. and I didn't.. so when I received an email about my tax refund after buying a vacuum cleaner, I felt like it was a huge blessing from God.
I think the last tax refund I got around $40. This time, it is a lot more. More than I expected.
I'm grateful for that blessing and know that it will help go towards a proper desk & computer chair as my shoulders and posture are not doing so well with what I have (which I have had for about 5 years!). So it is time to upgrade!
That is my little update for now.. Tonight I am completing another bucket list item, so hopefully I can take some photos and share that with you later this week.
