Hi! I’m Shanda Pierce—a filmmaker, storyteller, and proud granddaughter of Walter Hopkins and Lula Hunter. My debut documentary, 2032 South Park Avenue, shines a spotlight on my grandparents’ shop, Hopkins Fashions & Sounds—a hub of pride, style, and community in Tucson’s South Park neighborhood.

This project is more than a film—it’s a love letter to Black history, family legacy, and the stories that shaped who I am. By documenting their shop and the community around it, I’m working to make sure future generations know just how vibrant and resilient South Park Avenue truly was.
