What makes tomatoes to rot when they are still attached to the plan?

This question actually came from one of our patreons - of which we gladly appreciate because it shows to us that you guys are following and you are willing to learn with us as we share our journey in the homesteading lifestyle.

I'm glad you wrote.

It is blossom end rot, which is likely Calcium deficiency in your soil.

I usually encourage fellow farmers to do soil test first in order to know the soil pH and understand which crops are likely to perfom better. Normally this rotting can be also a result of nutrients that are in excess.
