I'm building Shiritai because the fastest way to get better at Japanese is to read the real thing — the posts, comments, and articles you actually want to read — instead of textbook sentences.
The extension adds furigana above every kanji so you can keep reading without losing your place, lets you click any word for an instant dictionary lookup, highlights words by JLPT level so you can see what's within reach, and (via the Shiritai web app) gives you a full breakdown of any text you select: translation, grammar, vocabulary, kanji, and casual/social-media nuance.
It's free, it has no ads, and furigana + dictionary lookups run entirely in your browser — your reading isn't shipped off to a server just to add readings.
