Discovery of Mayil's Well
When humans decided they need to leave their homes to seek out fresh water, four people, two men and two women, left to explore and report back. Upon their journey, they found four lakes and rejoiced; and from these four lakes, they found rivers that went in every direction, feeding a land bountiful with resources. As they followed the various rivers that sprung from them, they followed one into a system of caverns that eventually led them to an underground reservoir. As they looked around, a giant being arose from the water that shook them to their very core.
This giant being looked as though water was falling in several directions, almost like they were wings, originating from a center with two eyes black as the deepest parts of the ocean. They were so stunned, they had to shut their eyes and fall to their knees while begging for their lives. They announced themselves as Mayil, a divine being who serves the great Ajule - the ruler of the universe who’s sole purpose was to fight malevolence wherever it may be found.
Mayil changed his appearance into that of a human and instructed them to open their eyes for they were not in danger. When they looked upon the being, they saw **a middle aged man, not particularly handsome, but also not ugly. He had thinly black hair and was covered in lines that resembled that of waves while they shined a subtle bright blue. It was here that Mayil offered to explain the existence of Ajule and their fight against malevolence in the universe, but in exchange, they would have to blind themselves. They all agreed and learned the secrets of the universe, and from henceforth, they were known as Seers. Mayil also explained to them the water from the reservoir held divine powers - with the ability to gain immortality as long as they drank from the reservoir. He strictly instructed them not to share this with anyone who was not a Seer so they could not abuse the power. The four of them drank the water and exited the cavern. The two men were known as Theddius and Raziel and the two women were known as Shyra and Nyla. They are known as “The Founding Four” and are considered to be the founders of Ashadism and revered throughout the religion.
