I recently had the opportunity to participate in Game Dev Camp at the end of 2022. It was great 5 months of an online program that provides a comprehensive learning experience for those interested in game development. The camp was held in a virtual format, with weekly calls to discuss our games and meetings with professionals from the industry.

One of the highlights of the camp was the new design experience I gained. The instructors provided valuable insights and feedback on my team game design, which helped me to improve my skills and develop a better games. They were always available and willing to answer any questions I had, and their guidance was instrumental in my growth as a game designer. My team worked on a “COSSACK DRIVE” game. COSSACK DRIVE is a vehicular combat slaughter game that takes place in the war-torn streets of Ukraine.

In addition to the design aspect, the camp also provided an opportunity to network with industry professionals. I had the chance to ask questions, listen to interesting stories or find out which books should be read and learn about their experiences in the field, which gave me a better understanding of the industry and the opportunities available. The professionals were also available for one on one meetings, which was a great opportunity to get more personalized advice and feedback.

The camp also provided a great platform to collaborate with other participants. We were placed in teams and assigned a game development project. It was a great experience working with different people from different backgrounds, having different skill sets and perspectives. It was a great opportunity to learn from each other and grow as a team.

Overall, I found Game Dev Camp to be a fantastic opportunity to learn about game development and network with professionals in the industry. The virtual format made it easy to participate from anywhere, and the instructors and professionals provided valuable insights and advice. The curriculum was well-structured, and it covered everything from the basics to the more advanced aspects of game development. The collaboration and networking opportunities were also a great addition to the camp, and it helped me to build connections and relationships that will be valuable in my future career in the industry. I would highly recommend this camp to anyone interested in game development, whether they are just starting out or are looking to take their skills to the next level.

Unfortunately, because of russians and problems with electricity, we didn't finish all our ideas: superpowers, different weapons, car customization, different playable characters, new maps (we didn't finish our demo map also 😢), and a campaign with our own unique story, but it's still was a great experience for all of us.
