Python in Excel - as easy as VBA
💡 If you find value in XPyCode today, one simple way to support the project is to contribute as if the license already existed — for example, by donating around €3 per month.
────────
What is XPyCode ?
XPyCode is a Python package that bridges Python and Excel, bringing to Excel the same level of power and flexibility that VBA once provided—now with modern technologies.
With XPyCode, you can:
- 🐍 Control and interact with Excel using Python, powered by the new Office.js API
- Ƒ Create and register Excel Custom Functions written in Python
- ⚡ Trigger Python functions from Excel events
- 📦 Manage Python dependencies directly from a user-friendly interface
- 🐛 Debug Python code seamlessly
- 📗 Store the entire project inside the Excel workbook (Python code, custom functions, events, dependencies, and configuration)
- 🖥️ Run all Python code locally — no server required, no data transfer, full data privacy
Your support through donations will help make this vision a reality and accelerate the path toward a reliable Python-powered Excel ecosystem.

Who we are ?
The funding request is made by a very small consulting company.
Through years of hands-on work with Excel and Python, we directly experienced the limitations of existing tools and identified a growing gap in the way Python is—or will be—integrated into Excel. We strongly believe that the current direction of “Python embedded in Excel” does not fully meet the needs of professionals who require local execution, flexibility, and full control over their code and data.
As a result, we made a deliberate decision to pause our consulting activities and focus our efforts on building a solution ourselves: XPyCode.
This project is driven by real-world needs, practical experience, and the conviction that the Excel–Python ecosystem deserves a better, more open, and more developer-friendly standard.

Why make a donation?
The funding will be used to continue the development of XPyCode and bring it to a stable, secure, and production-ready release.
During the alpha and beta phases, the tool will remain freely available and license-free, which requires dedicated resources without immediate revenue.
- Contributions will support:
- Core development and stabilization
- Security reviews and hardening
- Bug fixing, testing, and performance improvements
- Documentation and user support
- Promotion and community outreach to help establish XPyCode as a trusted standard for Python–Excel integration
This funding phase is essential to ensure long-term quality, reliability, and adoption before introducing any paid licensing model.
