Xpert Recruiting Introduction

Xpert Recruiting Introduction

Nov 15, 2023

Hello all and thank you for visiting (and hopefully subscribing) to my new ‘Xpert Recruiting’ blog! I wanted this first post to be more of an introduction to who I am and to lay the foundation of what this blog is all about.

My name is Shaun, and I am a soon-to-be retired Master Sergeant. I joined in April 2001, and I will retire at the end of December 2023. I served in a line unit until my deployment in 2004. I joined the AGR (Active Guard and Reserve) program as soon as I returned and have been recruiting ever since. I was a recruiter for multiple years, Senior Marketing NCO (noncommissioned officer), Master Trainer, and a recruiting Company NCOIC (noncommissioned officer in charge). I have completed SQI-4, WLC, BNCOC, SLC (Honor Graduate), and MLC (finished top in my class). I have been Ohio’s Marketing NCO of the Year and Expert 7 NCOIC of the Year (best of the best) not once, not twice, but three years in a row.

I mention all of this to illustrate the fact that I can help you recruit and lead. I have lost many battles in recruiting, but the war was always won (I’ll explain this analogy in a different blog post). I have been on the top multiple times. I have proven techniques and skills that will improve any recruiting areas IF implemented properly.

I can and will assist you with all things recruiting. I have turned recruiting into an almost guaranteed process (nothing is ever 100%, but I try). I have implemented my processes for years and they work. Things that I will discuss throughout these blog posts are:

Recruiter Level

-        Mission (Battles vs the “War”)

-        The basics

-        Effort vs Progress

-        Prospecting (all things)

-        Processing (all things)

-        Service After the Sale (all things)

-        Etc…

NCOIC Level

-        Mission Priority

-        Being ‘3 Strong’

-        10-3 rule

-        Tele-prospecting

-        Under performance

-        High achievers

-        70/30

-        Openness

-        Soldier Care

-        Attitudes

I plan on posting 2-4 times per month (pending on how much time that I have between my new career and my family responsibilities). I will try and mix things up between Recruiter and NCOIC posts throughout each month.

Listen… I started this blog because I honestly give a damn. I do care about the future of our military. I do care about recruiters and NCOICs knowing how and what to do in their positions. I legitimately and genuinely want to see you ALL succeed.

I am going to end this introductory post and start preparing all of my other posts to start sharing with you all. Please spread the word and share this with your recruiter buddies. My first official recruiter post will be on or around the middle of December.  Thank you and God Bless.
