It was quite a month last month, and thank you everyone who found me! I've never been really good at consistently promoting myself and staying in present and in front of people. I know some have thought I was a bit standoffish as a result, but the reality is I am actually just a bit shy. It can be really hard to be shy sometimes in this age of social media!
That said, it's kind of wild that I made the leap I finally did last month - TikTok! You can now find me on TikTok with all sorts of leather art in progress videos @wyrdcynthia.
So when I did that, the wildest thing happened... people liked it. I was really not expecting over 300k people to watch how I make my leather bottles. And I admit, that sort of attention does help me keep making more things. Knowing people are watching, and hopefully enjoying, does help me push through that shyness a bit and keep sharing.
New Last Month
So here's some fun accomplishments of the last month!
I was challenged by my friend to make 20 pieces of leather mushroom art by Festival of Legends at the end of the month. I managed 19. So close! The pieces that have not already sold will be posted in the Wyrd Armouries store this week, so take a look!
Low on inventory and inspired by TikTok artists, I made stickers from some of my witchy drawings! Those are also in the Wyrd Armouries store. I did my best to make them as durable as I could, so you can use them on all sorts of things. Personally, my art stickers are all over my computer, printer, and I'm now starting in on my marker case.
We finally got to do to Festival of Legends! Our first year at this relatively local show was supposed to be 2020... So glad we finally got to go!
Had a blast our second time at Bay Area Renaissance Faire. Silly story for all of you on that one... Our first weekend there was May 14th, 2020, as we watched the rest of our show season shut down. It was great to be there for most of the run this time, and we hope to add this to our regular schedule.
New show we hope will be a regular one: The Viking Experience. These guys put on a great event, and have already lined up bigger space for next year.
Thank you to everyone who said hi, bought things, or just came out for a good time to a new year of events picking up. I'm scrambling to keep up with everything. I have to remind myself this is a good problem to have!
Coming Up
Virginia Renaissance Faire opens back up next weekend! After two years closed we are so excited to be back. We'll be in our usual spot at the top of the hill near the big food booth, so come of by if you get the chance! It's weekends, through the first weekend of June. I look forward to seeing familiar faces!
Monthly Printable Freebie
So, it's been suggested multiple times that I should make a coloring book out of my ink drawings, and since I am in mushroom mode, we are starting with that very popular poisonous mushroom, fly amanita.
I would love to see what you do with this page!
Thanks for ready, have an awesome month. Go make some art, and make some magic!
